Cape Town is one of the world’s most beautiful cities. From almost any vantage point, there’s a mountain or an ocean in view, and often both. Cape Town is one of South Africa’s most historically important cities. It was here, in the Mother City, where the first European colonists set foot in South Africa—which also marked the beginning of the South African slave trade. It was home to perhaps the world’s most famous political prisoner—Nelson Mandela—who was held on the tiny Robben Island in Table Bay. Here are a few of the landmark historical moments that make Cape Town the place it is today.
Cango Caves is located in the Precambrian limestones. This is at the foothills of the Swartberg range near the town of Oudtshoorn. This region is found in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The cave is known as one of the country’s finest, best known, and the most popular tourist caves. The kind of paintings and artifacts found in the cave show the caves were in use throughout prehistory.
Sun City located in the heart of an ancient volcano, is the entertainment destination and world class resort of Johannesburg. A must see place on your Johannesburg trip. Golf safari, water skiing and surfing on the artificial lake and hiking at the rich nature preservation areas are some of the attractions you may do at the Sun City.
This coast was Cape Town’s first fashionable bathing area, particularly as the water here is 5-7 degrees warmer that on the Atlantic Coast. This is due to strong winds from the southeast, which bring the upper, warm water layers directly into the bay. Along the bay there are many different villages, each of which is attracted by its own beauty. A visit is worthwhile every time, as the coastal town is on the tour to the Cape of Good Hope.
