VELANKANNI

The Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health is located at the small town of Velankanni in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. The Roman Catholic Latin Rite Basilicas devoted to Our Lady of Good Health. Devotion to Our Lady of Good Health of Velankanni can be traced to the mid-16th century and is attributed to three miracles at sites around where the Basilica stands: the apparition of Mary and the Christ Child to a slumbering shepherd boy, the curing of a lame buttermilk vendor, and the rescue of Portuguese sailors from a violent sea storm.

POONDI MADHA BASILICA

Our Lady of Lourdes Basilica, Poondi, is a Catholic pilgrimage centre . the beginning of the 18th century a great Italian Jesuit missionary Rev. Fr. Constantine Joseph Beschi S.J popularly known as “Veeramamuniver” built a church and named it as the church of “Mary Queen of Immaculate Conception“. It is in the dome of this church the statue of the miraculous Lady of Poondi is placed. . It is in the dome of this church the statue of the miraculous Lady of Poondi is placed. This miraculous statue is one of the three statues that were made in France after the apparition of Our Lady at Lourdes. Rev.Fr.Darre, MEP, brought these statues from France.

ST.LOURD MARRY CHURCH

The Our Lady of Lourdes Church is located in the city of Tiruchirappalli. The Church is devoted to Our Lady of Lourdes. The church is decked out in Gallo-Catholic design, from neo-Gothic spires to anguished scenes of crucifixion and martyrdom painted inside. In a note of cross-religious pollination, icons of Virgin Mary are garlanded in flower necklaces. constructed in the year 1840 AD. The church is situated near the rock fort. The main tower is 220 feet in height, and the small tower is 120 feet in height. The statues of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis Xavier and St. John de Britto are placed at the center of the tower. The church bell is set at a height of 90 feet.
