Being a proud descendant from Chettinad, I am extremely proud & patriotic about the rich cultural heritage of this unique region & traditions. Since Chettinad architecture & culture is one of its kind & me having a solid experience in the tourism industry, we are taking multiple initiatives in promoting Chettinad Architecture and Culture to the world and students.
It is an undeniable fact that creative education always needs research and observation. Though, technology has made it easier for us to research online and explore new things, there are certain things in which photographs cannot substitute human realistic experiences & physical learning is very important.
As you would be aware of- Though many properties are in use & in functioning condition, all the residents & descendants of the family would not be residing here. Hence, prior permissions are required to be taken from the respective people to visit various incredible properties which would be a great knowledge bank for students & faculty members. Many dimensions of learning are found outside the classroom.
As a community member of Chettinad, it is easy for us to access the needs of students & connect various property owners & resource persons; arrange permissions to visit various functioning Authentic Chettinad properties such as Mansion houses, Chathirams, Houses converted to Luxury Hotels, Schools, Hospitals, Institutions built during the active & glorious time of Chettinad.
We assure that you can explore and do research on various types of Chettinad houses with a knowledgeable and trained facilitator team. We will be conducting the study tours based on the agenda below around Kanadukathan, Athangudi, Devakottai, Pallathur, Natarasankottai and Karaikudi areas depending on house availability & permission. We shall take care of the END-TO-END SERVICES- Food, accommodation, local travel, guide/ facilitator team.
Chettiars have a huge concern on the society & region beyond their palatial mansion homes & have developed self-sustaining settlements centuries back without present day technology.
As part of Chettinad culture, there are hundreds of temples, tanks, mutts, chathirams & several schools, colleges, hospitals & institutions developed & maintained by the community members centuries ago as a service & contribution to the society – which are still functioning & serving.
There a few palaces & museums in and around the Chettinad region which are great knowledge & resource center’s breathing the Chettinad pride which can be visited on a permission basis. As part of our services, our team shall take care of arranging visits to these places as well.
